Rajasthan Congress chief Sachin Pilot has reconstituted the state unit of the party, appointing three senior vice-presidents, eight vice-presidents, nine general secretaries, three working committee members, 22 secretaries and 20 district presidents.
MLA Ramesh Meena has been appointed as the Deputy Leader of Opposition, while former MLA Pratap Singh Khachariawas has been made Jaipur city president.
The list was approved by Congress president Sonia Gandhi and undersigned by AICC general secretary Gurudas Kamat, who is also party in-charge of Rajasthan. While most of the appointments are of Pilot loyalists, the party high command has also accommodated supporters of former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, in abid to balance the two factions.

MLA Vishvendra Singh, former MP Gopal Singh Idawa and former minister Bhanwar Lal Meghwal have been appointed senior vice presidents. Vice-presidents include former MPs K L Bairwa, Ratan Singh, Shankar Pannu and Bharat Meghwal, and Dr Karan Singh Yadav, Mumtaz Masih, Khanu Khan and Jagdish Chandra Sharma.
District presidents have been carefully chosen from grassroots level workers. They include Vijay Jain in Ajmer city, Bhupinder Singh in Ajmer rural, Tikaram Juli in Alwar, Rajender Yadav in Jaipur rural, Panachand Meghwal in Baran, Sher Singh in Bharatpur, Mahender Gehlot in Bikaner rural, Ramji Lal in Dausa, Dr Samar Jeet in Jalore and Zakir Hussain in Nagaur.
Salim Kagzi held the post of Jaipur district president for eight years before being replaced by Khachariawas , who said he would soon constitute a team to oppose the ‘anti-people policies’ of the BJP.
