Jewellery recovered from arrested IAS officer’s lockers

The officer was suspended from the post of Principal Secretary, after being arrested by the ACB following a raid that revealed an alleged bribery racket including the state’s mining department.

The ACB’s search through bank lockers of suspended IAS officer Ashok Singhvi Saturday has revealed jewellery worth over Rs 3 crore, a Rolex watch, and a licensed revolver from the lockers, ACB spokesperson Renu Juneja said.

Singhvi was suspended from the post of Principal Secretary (mines and petroleum) after being arrested by the ACB following a raid that revealed an alleged bribery racket including the state’s mining department.

Singhvi’s accomplices, who led the ACB to him,were nabbed while allegedly exchanging a bribe of Rs 2.55 crore on his behalf in Udaipur and Bhilwara Thursday.
