"We have submitted a complaint to the EC and requested it to stop the government and officials from doing anything illegal before a new government is formed,” Reddy said. (X/ UttamINC)The Congress made serious allegations against Telangana’s Bharat Rashtra Samithi government in a complaint to Chief Election Officer Vikas Raj on Saturday, ahead of Sunday’s counting of votes polled in the November 30 Assembly elections.
Congress leader N Uttam Kumar Reddy said that after the Election Commission directed it to stop Rythu Bandhu disbursement citing the model code of conduct, the government was diverting Rs 6,000 crore meant for the scheme to contractors whose payments were pending.
“We have come to know that the BRS government is paying off its contractors. We have also come to know that the status of assigned land in Rangareddy and Medchal districts are being changed on the Dharani land records portal.
We have submitted a complaint to the EC and requested it to stop the government and officials from doing anything illegal before a new government is formed,” Reddy said.
“We also want to know if the EC has given permission to the BRS government to hold a cabinet meeting on December 4 and whether the announcement violates the model code of conduct,’’ he added.
On Friday afternoon, it was announced that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao would hold a cabinet meeting at the Dr B R Ambedkar secretariat at 2 pm on December 4.
Reddy was accompanied by state Congress chief A Revanth Reddy, Madhu Yakshi Goud and others to the Election Commission office.
Ministers declined to comment on the Congress’s allegations.
