The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has removed three veteran pracharaks, including former Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel’s supporter Bhaskar Rao Damle(84),from its state executive council.

Damle was recently seen at Keshubhai’s house in Gandhinagar where Narendra Modi-baiters planned to come out with a third front to contest the next Assembly election.

“Three veteran pracharaks Bhaskar Raoji Damle,Narendrabhai Panchasara and Rameshbhai Gupta have been relieved of their responsibilities as members of the RSS state executive body,as announced in the state’s executive body meeting. It is expected that the Gujarat Sangh will keep benefiting from their experience,” said Pradip Jain, president, publicity unit of Gujarat RSS.

Jain refused to comment when asked if Damleji was removed under pressure from Modi.

He,however, clarified that Damleji “will stay at the Ahmedabad Sangh office”,saying the veteran pracharak has been relieved only of “day-to-day responsibilities”.

Damle, meanwhile, refused to comment saying he “was not aware” of his removal from the state executive.

Damle, who has been a significant part of RSS in the state, was seen in almost all the recent meetings of Modi-baiters like Keshubhai and Gordhan Zadaphia.
