Narendra Modi takes a dig at dynasty politics,UPA policies

Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday hit out at the Congress for its “dynasty” politics,saying “one family” has let the country down instead of taking forward its development story.

Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday hit out at the Congress for its “dynasty” politics,saying “one family” has let the country down instead of taking forward its development story.

In his early morning interaction with Gujarati diaspora in the US through videoconferencing,Modi said,“Rather than taking things forward,the UPA government has actually wasted a decade. The plane of UPA’s economic policies,instead of taking off,has crashlanded.”

“It was not for nothing that Indulal Yagnik had to launch Mahagujarat Andolan and people of Gujarat launched Navnirman Andolan against the family’s corrupt dynastic rule in the past,” he said,adding,Sardar Patel belonged to the Congress,but the party forgot the sacrifices of its freedom fighters after Independence.

Addressing Vishwa Gujarati Sammelan at New Jersey held under the aegis of Association of Indian Americans in North America (AAINA),Modi called upon the NRI groups to support “development” online,rising above politics and nepotism in the election year.

He exhorted them to take active interest in the democratic process and send letters to friends and acquaintances and join the campaign. He also asked them to support the anti-gutkha campaign through mobile missed calls and SMSes.

Modi said that youth in India had the power to win the world with their knowledge and not muscle power. The state government has created a number of opportunities skill development for the youth through incubation centres like iCREATE,he said.

Gujarat has put across its development story and raised its brand value in the past 10 years,he said,attributing this to contribution of the people to the government’s efforts as “servant” and not as “ruler”.
