Amid tight security,thousands of Muslims on Friday staged a peaceful march under the banner of Versatile Minorities Forum in the city in protest against the allegedly anti-Islam film made by an American,Nakoula Basseley.
After Friday’s prayers,they gathered at Chowk Bazaar and started their march at 3 pm,passing through different areas before reaching district collector’s office at Nanpura,where their representatives handed over a memo-randum to collector Jayprakash Shivhare.
Versatile Minority Forum president Ishtiyak Pathan said,“Our religious sentiments are hurt. The world is protesting against this film and we too joined in the protest in a peaceful manner.”
