A 90-year-old woman was raped by her 22-year-old neighbour in Loni area of Ghaziabad late on Friday night. The victim lived alone,the police said.
The incident came to light when a neighbour visited the old woman on Saturday morning. The injured victim was found lying in the house, a senior police officer said.
The police rushed the victim to the Ghaziabad District Hospital,where rape was confirmed after medical examination. The victim was also beaten up.
The victims statement was recorded and within a few hours accused Kapil Kumar was arrested, the officer said.

Superintendent of Police (City) Ghaziabad Anant Dev said a case under Section 376 has been registered against Kumar. Kumar has been remanded to judicial custody, he added. The victim is undergoing treatment at the district hospital and her conditions is said to be stable.
