An Advocate was shot at by an unknown person just a few metres from his house in Kapashera on Thursday. The police said the victim,whose condition is critical,is recuperating at the AIIMS Trauma Centre.
The incident occurred at 9.30 am when the advocate,Rishi Raj (55),was headed for work. The police said the victim had walked about 100 metres from his residence in Kapashera Gaon when an unknown person shot him in the neck. The police said the victim informed them that he was able to take a look at the accused unknown to him as per his statement to the police and would be able to recognise him.
A senior police officer said,We are suspecting the assailant could be linked to those accused in the murder of the victims son.
Rajs son Vikas was murdered last year by four men,three of whom were arrested and are at present undergoing trial at the Dwarka court,where Raj practises. The fourth accused is absconding and has been declared a proclaimed offender. hearing in the case reportedly took place on Wednesday,when a witness,who had purportedly been threatened by the accused and had been provided police protection,deposed before the court.
A case under IPC Section 307 (attempt to murder) has been registered and we are trying to identify the suspects, said Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southwest) R S Krishnia.
