A Woman and her daughter were killed after being hit by a speeding Innova car near Anand Vihar on Thursday night. According to police,they were going to Vaishnodevi shrine when the incident occurred.
The victims Twinkle (14) and her mother,Santosh (36) were residents of Brij Vihar,police said. They were just about to board a bus for the shrine from Anand Vihar ISBT when an Innova car hit them around 10.30 pm near the Ramprastha signal. While Twinkle died on the spot,Santosh was rushed to AIIMS Trauma Centre. She succumbed to injuries on Friday morning, a police officer said.
The victims neighbours said the family had been really excited about going to Vaishno Devi. Twinkle was a very bubbly child and she had told us about the family’s plan to visit the shrine this summer. They left last evening for the temple, said Sheila,a neighbour.
The driver,Indernath (42),has been arrested.
Two killed
Two persons were killed and three others injured when a speeding Tavera car ran over them near Kashmere Gate ISBT late on Thursday night.
The accident was reported around 2 am. The car driver lost control and rammed into a divider,mowing down an unidentified 24-year-old man and another person,35-year-old Avdesh, police said.
The victims were sleeping on the pavement when they were run over.
