Woman arrested for beating toll plaza staffer in Uttar Pradesh

A 35-year-old woman was arrested Monday for allegedly thrashing a woman toll plaza staffer in Uttar Pradesh. The arrest came after CCTV footage of the incident went viral on social media.

The woman has been identified as Chanchal, a resident of Hridaypur village in Bulandshahr district. The incident took place at the Luharli toll plaza on the Gautam Buddha Nagar border.

“When she (Chanchal) was stopped at the toll, she said that she was a local resident. The woman employee asked her to show her identity card. She did not have any ID proof. So the employee told her that she would have to pay the toll. She came out of her car, entered the booth and beat the employee, and the latter fell from her chair,” said a police officer.
