Woman,2 children found dead

A woman and her two children were found dead under mysterious circumstances at their home in Rajender Park in Gurgaon on Monday evening. While the police suspect the trio committed suicide,they are not ruling out murder as the woman’s husband has not been contacted.

The body of Anu Gupta (45),daughter Kavita (16) and son Suresh (6) were discovered around 7 pm by a neighbour. “There were no visible injury marks on the bodies and it seems they consumed some poisonous substance,” said Maheshwar Dayal,DCP (West). No suicide note was found from the spot.

The two children were reportedly students of Bal Bharti School in Gurgaon while Anu was a housewife,the police said.

A police officer said Anu’s husband,Anoop Puri,could not be contacted as his mobile phone was switched off. He has reportedly not come home for the past three weeks.

Police said the family had moved to Gurgaon a month ago and since then Anoop had only stayed with the family for four or five days. He has not been seen since then,the police added.

The family hails from Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh.
