It’s unusual to find an eatery in the midst of fancy boutiques and home accessories stores, but an obscure space on the second floor of Select Citywalk in Saket is home to a new restaurant,Joy Luck Moon. Sandwiched between a music showroom and a designer home furnishing store, the restaurant is making sure that it has signages in all important corners of the mall. And thanks,to its unique name, and exterior of sparkling red,you can spot Joy Luck Moon from floors below,as it overlooks the central atrium of the mall. “The word moon has been lucky for me and we wanted to retain it for the new restaurant, and Joy Luck is

a typically popular Chinese symbol,” says restaurateur Sanjay Munjal who also runs Ginger Moon in Khan Market.

Minimal, stark interiors at Joy Luck Moon light up with red lamps casting a glowy light all around. Once you’re inside,it looks a lot like Ginger Moon. “We can accommodate 38 guests indoors and have a large terrace that we plan to use for fresco dining once the weather improves,” adds Munjal.

The menu has some surprises. There is Singapore Kang Kong Vegetable,a platter of watery fresh spinach in a mildly flavoured dressing and a delicious Chinese roast chicken which is served with sesame sauce and a Spicy Squid Salad.

“This recipe is popular in Malaysia and combines the best of Hong Kong and Chinese cooking styles,” Munjal adds. The liquor license is awaited and in the coming months, the restaurant also plans to roll out a Hong Kong dim sum menu.
