After a series of panchayats in several villages of Greater Noida,farmers have said they will not allow any construction activity to resume in the region. The move comes after a technical sub-committee of the National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB) gave the approval to the Greater Noida Master Plan 2021.
This means that once the NCRPB clears the Master Plan,construction of housing projects here,which have been stalled since 2010,will be resumed.
Dushyant Yadav,a farmer from Patwari whose land was acquired under the urgency clause,said,The enhanced compensation given by the Allahabad High Court is not enough. We have approached the Supreme Court to quash the land acquisition. We are hopeful that the apex court will give us our land back. In the light of this,we will not allow construction to take place. We will stage dharnas in front of construction site.
If construction is allowed and the second clearance is given,the chances of us getting back our land are dismal, said Mahesh Yadav of Bisrakh village.
The farmers also criticised the Kisan Sangharsh Samiti,which had appeared in a press conference with flat buyers asking for clearances to be given quickly. They represent farmers who are large landholders and for whom the increased compensation is enough. For the majority of us farmers,a 64 per cent increase in compensation amounts to a few thousand rupees. Either our land must be returned or we must be given the market price, Naresh Yadav,pradhan of Sorkha village said.
