Police rescued two school children, who were about to be trafficked, from Mohali using WhatsApp. Police said the girls were lured by a couple who promised to take them on a picnic.
They went missing on February 8 following which their parents filed a kidnapping case in Southeast Delhi. During investigation, a school friend told police that one of the girls called from a mobile phone. During analysis, investigators found that the WhatsApp display picture featured a group of men and traced the phone to Chandigarh.
“We searched the area and identified the men. We also detained an auto driver, who led us to the missing girls,” an officer said.
