West Delhi murder case; teacher,boyfriend held

A 26-year-old teacher and her boyfriend were arrested here for allegedly murdering her mother,which they had projected as the handiwork of robbers,police said on Tuesday.

A 26-year-old teacher and her boyfriend were arrested here for allegedly murdering her mother,which they had projected as the handiwork of robbers,police said on Tuesday.

Sakshi Kapoor (26) and Sunny Batra (21),a second-year engineering student,were caught four days after the murder of Kiran Kapoor (55) at her residence in Paschim Vihar of west Delhi,a senior police official said here. The duo allegedly murdered Kiran after she returned home after a religious function and found them together in the house,the official said adding the family was objecting to her relationship with the boy.

The teacher allegedly made a story that two men barged into their house when she was preparing food. Sakshi said she was scared after seeing the robbers and hid herself in the drawing room. She claimed she heard a loud sound of TV from Kiran’s room and later she found her stabbed. Sakshi is a teacher in a play school in Paschim Vihar area while Batra is a resident of Shalimar Bagh. They were known to each other for the past one and half years.

The family was objecting to their relationship and the teacher had a grudge against her family on this count,the official said.

On the fateful day,Kiran had told her daughter that she was going to a function and will be back in four to five hours. Sakshi then allegedly informed Batra who reached her house,the official said.
