The capital on Sunday evening received light rain,with Met department predicting a wet week ahead .
By the early evening the capital had seen 15 mm of rain,with areas around Lodhi Road receiving the maximum showers.
Met officials said the highest temperature on Sunday was 37.2 degrees Celsius,3 degrees above normal for this time of year. The minimum was 28.2 degrees,1 degree higher than usual. Humidity was at 67 per cent.
Before Sunday,Delhi had already received 217 mm of rainfall since the wet season started on June 1,which was 73 mm more than the usual rain for that time period,Met department said. Last week two thunderstorms,one on Tuesday night and one during the day on Friday,drenched the capital,causing massive traffic snarls and delays at the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
The predictions through Thursday are similar to last week,with sporadic thunderstorms and showers expected almost every day. The maximum temperatures will be around 38 degrees and minimum around 27 degrees.
The forecast for Monday includes generally cloudy skies with temperature between 35 and 27 degrees Celsius,Met officials said.
