(File Photo)A man allegedly involved in 25 cases, including murder, robbery and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act offences, was arrested after an encounter with a Crime Branch team, months after he was involved in a shootout with a rival family in Narela, the Delhi Police said on Friday.
According to the police, Sher Khan aka Sheru was on the run since December 17, 2024, after his family had an altercation with Javed’s family, leading to cross-firing between the two groups. A 10-year-old child sustained bullet injuries during the altercation, the Delhi Police said.
On March 6, a team led by Umesh Bathwal, Assistant Commissioner of Police, and Police Inspector Rampal received a tip-off that Khan was going to arrive near Barwala village, Rohini, at around 5.40 pm. “A person was seen coming on a Scooty who was identified as accused Sher Khan aka Sheru. He was signalled to stop by the police but he opened fire on the police team,” Sanjay Kumar Sain, Additional Commissioner of Police, Crime, said.

“He has two brothers, Soiab and Sohail, and six sisters. Soiab was murdered by Naved, who is Javed’s younger brother,” Sain further said.
