The newly-appointed SP (Rural),K K Asthana said,When Pintoo reached Jalalpur road, unknown assailants pumped bullets into him. The farmers in the nearby fields heard the shots and rushed to his help.
He was rushed to the district hospital where he was declared dead on arrival, added Asthana.
There was a dispute in Pintoos family over 50 bighas of land. This may have led to the murder. Pintoos father was also murdered a few years ago. We are looking at the possibility of contract or revenge killing as there are murder cases registered against him, said a senior police officer.
