The 23-year-old woman, who was allegedly gangraped by seven men early Monday morning, had worked at the Last Chance pub in Sahara Mall for a month, but left the job a few days ago.

Police on Monday said the woman was not working for the Last Chance.

A partner of the pub,Raj Mehta, told Newsline that they were contacted by police and have provided all information.

“We have given CCTV camera footage. She worked with us for a month, but she left the job around three to four days ago. There was some problems with her attendance. Her dues were paid and the pub has nothing to do with her,” said Mehta.

Deputy Commissioner P C Meena said: “Sahara Mall has gained notoriety and we will review the matter with the Excise department as to how so many pubs have been given licences there. I will call a meeting regarding this day after.”

He said it will be ensured that policing is better on the stretch.
