A city court on Tuesday sent Dorothy,the placement agent who had sent the teenaged help to the house of Vandana Dhir,to eight-day judicial custody after her questioning by police ended on Monday.
Dhir was arrested on the charge of illegally confining and torturing the help in her Vasant Kunj residence. Her bail application was rejected on Monday and is at present in Tihar jail.
According to sources,during questioning,Dorothy told police the whereabouts of Kajal,the former help working with Dhir.
Kajal is presently in Jharkhand and will join investigations,police said.
Police also confronted Dorothy with the helps mother on Monday.
The mother had earlier claimed that she had received
Rs 15,000 and two mobile phones as remuneration for her daughters services from Dorothy.
During Dorothys bail hearing,her lawyer told the court that she should be granted bail since the charges against her were bailable. Police refuted her claims alleging that Dorothy has been booked under non-bailable offences as well.
Dorothy was arrested on October 3 and is charged with trafficking,criminal conspiracy and offences under the Bonded Labour Abolition Act and Prevention of Atrocities Against Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Act. Arguments on her bail shall be taken up again on October 10.
