On day two of the trial in the alleged Uber rape case, the defence counsel on Friday cross-examined the 25-year-old woman executive. She is the first prosecution witness in the case.

The woman — who had recorded her statement before ASJ Kaveri Baweja on Thursday — stood firm on her testimony on Friday as well.

On being questioned by Yadav’s counsel on the alleged incident that took place last month, the woman said she had raised an alarm but could not save herself as the driver overpowered and raped her.

The recording of the woman’s statement remained inconclusive and will continue on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the accused Shiv Kumar Yadav was also produced in another court in connection with a forgery case. The court extended his custody till January 30.
