Two killed in cylinder burst

Two persons were charred to death and three others injured,including a four-month-old girl,after a cylinder exploded in a building housing their residence and a socks manufacturing unit in Shastri Nagar on Thursday.

Two persons were charred to death and three others injured,including a four-month-old girl,after a cylinder exploded in a building housing their residence and a socks manufacturing unit in Shastri Nagar on Thursday.

The police said the fire was reported from the three-storeyed building around 5.15 am. Eleven fire tenders were rushed to the spot which took nearly two-and-half hours to douse the flames. The deceased have been identified as Ramvati,65,and Kuldeep,18. Police officials said Kuldeep died while trying to save the woman. The injured were identified as Mamta (22),her daughter Nanhi (four months) and Raju. We are trying to identify who was responsible for the negligence and whether the manufacturing unit was bring run legally or not,a police official said.
