Two held with 1,500 kg marijuana

Delhi Police Crime Branch arrested two persons for their alleged involvement in drug trafficking and seized 1,575 kg of marijuana worth Rs 6 crore

The Delhi Police Crime Branch arrested two persons for their alleged involvement in drug trafficking and seized 1,575 kg of marijuana worth Rs 6 crore in the international market,police said. The accused have been identified as Bhaskar Rao (55) and T Kumar (29).

Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav said the accused used to put the drugs in a gunny bag and cover it with lemons and fodder,to hide the smell of the contraband. Police received a tip-off from the Narcotics Cell on August 31,informing them that Nagraj,a native of Tamil Nadu,and one Prashant Kale,were about to bring Marijuana through a truck driver. They were also told that it would be stored in a godown in Ghazipur Dairy farms.
