Two persons,allegedly involved in drug trafficking,were arrested on Tuesday from Baraf Khana in Subzi Mandi. Police claimed to have recovered 500 grams of heroin,worth Rs 50 lakh,from their possession.
According to police,Danish alias Sameer (22) had gone to Baraf Khana to deliver a consignment of drugs to the other accused,Darshana (25). Police said 100 grams of heroin was recovered from Darshana and 400 grams from Danish.
On questioning,police found that both were illiterate. Danish,a resident of Bareilly in UP,had come to Delhi in 2006 and began working in a footwear factory in Jaffarabad.
In 2010,he met alleged drug trafficker Munna,also from Bareilly,and started supplying drugs to his clients to earn a quick buck,police said.
Darshana,who is married and has two sons,was initially working in a parts packaging factory. Her husband had been diagnosed with tuberculosis three years ago and had quit his job last year,police said.
