The Delhi police has arrested one of the Top 10 criminals carrying a reward of Rs 50,000 on his arrest,from Outer Delhi,along with his associate,for their involvement in several murder and robbery cases.
Police have recovered a 9 mm pistol and a country-made pistol,along with five live cartridges and a motorbike.
Additional Commissioner of Police (Outer) Sanjay Kumar said the wanted man has been identified as Neeraj and his accomplice is Pradeep. Neeraj had escaped from judicial custody while being produced at Rohini court earlier this year. A resident of Pitampura village,Neeraj started out as a petty criminal and graduated to a hardcore criminal after coming in contact with one Ranjit alias Bihari. Neeraj,with his accomplices,allegedly murdered a factory owner during a dacoity in Northwest Delhi in 2011.
Police had received information that both the accused would come to Alipur. “Acting on a tip-off,a trap was laid on the GT Karnal Road,where a police team signalled the accused to stop. However,they took the service road in a bid to escape and fired at the team. After a chase,police managed to apprehend them.
Neeraj was arrested in connection with a robbery at a showroom in Rohini in 2011,but escaped from judicial custody with the help of his wife while being produced in court on March 30.
