Three-year-old falls from escalator at Delhi mall, dies

A three-year-old boy died on Tuesday after he fell from the escalator at Pacific Mall in Tilak Nagar, said police.

The incident happened around 5:45 pm when his family was busy purchasing movie tickets, said DCP (West Delhi) Vichitra Veer.

As per the police, the mother of the child, along with other women and children of the family, had come from Uttam Nagar to Pacific Mall in Tilak Nagar to watch a movie.

Identified as Vishal, the boy was trying to play with the escalator handrail when he lost balance and fell, said officials. The child was immediately rushed to DDU Hospital, but was declared brought dead, the DCP said.
