Three men were arrested from Northwest Delhi after they were found in possession of heroin worth Rs 4 crore in international market,police said. The accused have been identified as Raheesh (24),Amit (22) and Rafique (30). They were arrested from the Inder Enclave area in Nangloi.
The Special Cell of the Delhi Police said the three men got the consignment of 2.75 kg heroin from Bihar and Jharkhand. One of the accused,Amit,was overpowered near a house in Nagloi and 500 gm heroin was recovered from him. We searched the house and arrested his associate Raheesh,who was also found in possession of 750 gm heroin and 1 kg of Phenobarbital,a chemical drug, said a police officer.
According to police,Amit and Raheesh admitted that they were members of a drug syndicate led by Rafique during questioning . The duo reportedly told police they used to get heroin from Rafique,and then supplied it to various parties in Punjab.
Rafique was subsequently apprehended from Nangloi Metro station and 1 kg heroin was recovered from his possession. During questioning,Rafique told police he had been in the trade for ten years. He also said he used to get the supply of heroin from his contacts in Bihar and Jharkhand,police said.
