New Delhi: A 12-year-old girl was abducted and raped by two men in Northeast Delhi,police said. According to a complaint filed by her brother,the girl was sleeping at home when two men barged inside,kidnapped her and raped her in a secluded place. The family came to know of the incident when the girl came back crying. A medical examination of the girl confirmed rape and a case was registered, a police officer said. In a separate incident,a four-year-old girl was raped by her 19-year-old neighbour. She was found injured and crying and rushed to hospital. The girls medical examination confirmed rape and the neighbour,Heera Lal,has been arrested.
Police crack down on errant riders
New Delhi: Police cracked down on motorcyclists performing stunts on the roads around India Gate on Saturday. Police said 187 two-wheelers were fined and eight vehicles impounded. Two-wheeler riders were stopped and asked to produce their driving licence and other documents. Most riders had no papers on them. Most of them were caught from near India Gate,Connaught Place,Mandir Marg and Parliament Street,an officer said.
Israeli envoy attack: SC dismisses plea
New Delhi: The Supreme Court rejected a Delhi Police plea to review its judgement granting bail to journalist Syed Mohammed Ahmad Kazmi who is the lone accused in last years Israeli diplomat attack case. We have gone through the review petitions. We do not find any merit in the same. Accordingly,petitions are dismissed, a bench of Chief Justice Altamas Kabir and justices S S Nijjar and J Chelameswar said.
