An industrialist who tested positive for H1N1 virus but refused to be admitted in government hospital was today moved forcibly to RML Hospital. The patient had recently returned from New York.
Health Minister Kiran Walia said,We had been trying to convince the patient (name withheld to protect identity) to get admitted in the hospital. But the infection has now passed on to his mother due to the delay. We took the decision to move him today.
Sources said the 35-year-old used his clout to ensure he gets treatment at home a farmhouse in Rajokri near the airport. The family is powerful and there is no law we can use to make any patient come to a hospital, M Lal,Director of Health Services,said.
