Two workers of Suzuki Motorcycle India were were injured when a contractor allegedly assaulted them with glass bottles at the companys Kherki Dhaula plant on Sunday around 6.30 am. The workers union alleged that the contractor,Satish, also fired in the air with his pistol.
Around 800 workers of the plant have been on strike since Friday in support of the agitating employees of Maruti Suzuki India plant in Manesar.
Police said Satish runs a firm called Tirupati, which supplies trained workers to companies.

Police have registered a case under the Arms Act and seized the pistol used. Police said the pistol was snatched from Satish by the workers and later handed over to them.
We found an empty cartridge from the spot. Four shots were fired. We think that the pistol used is a licensed one. We have deployed adequate police force at the plant. Two reserves have been stationed there, said Rajiv Kumar,SHO of Kherki Dhaula police station.
According to Kherki Dhaula plant workers,Satish had been threatening them of dire consequences if they did not call off the strike. When the striking employees gathered around Satish to restrain him,he fired in the air with his pistol to scare the crowd, workers said.
He (Satish) even broke the rear windscreen of his Corolla car to give the impression that we attacked him. He later fled leaving his car behind, said Harmesh Singh, joint secretary of Suzuki Motorcycle India Employees Union.
The injured have been identified as Rajesh and Parvesh. While Rajesh fractured his left hand in the standoff,Parveshs palm was injured as he tried to defend himself.
He started abusing the workers and throwing bottles. We rushed to see what was happening. He charged at me with a broken bottle and wanted to stab me in my stomach. I stopped it with my hand and my palm was slashed, said Parvesh.
Workers said the Suzuki plant produces around 1,300 bikes everyday and there has been no production at the plant since Friday.
We support Maruti workers at the Manesar plant. What is happening to them, might happen to us someday as the rights of workers are being taken away, said Singh.
