Man killed brutally after he spills food onboard bus in Delhi; 1 held
Delhi Police have launched a manhunt for the remaining suspects after arresting one.

(Representational Image:gsglobalexpo.com) An abandoned body, a missing person’s complaint, and a post-mortem report led to the unfolding of the brutal killing of a 35-year-old cook inside a bus last week following an alleged fight over spilled food in Delhi’s Outer North district, police said on Sunday.
While one suspect has been arrested, a search is on for the other two.
The victim, identified as Manoj, was killed in an RTV bus in Bawana on the night of February 1 after he and his colleague Dinesh had catered an event in Sultanpur Dabas. “After finishing their work that night, they packed some leftover food and carried it with them. They boarded an RTV bus in which three people were already present, including the driver. While they were about to reach the Bawana Chowk, Manoj accidentally spilled some food which soiled the bus seats and floor,” said DCP (Outer North) Nidhin Valsan.
“This infuriated the driver and his friends. They allowed Dinesh to deboard at Bawana Chowk but stopped Manoj from getting down and drove ahead. They asked Manoj to clean the curry with his shirt. They then started abusing Manoj and thrashing him. Ashish, the driver, took out a rod and shoved it into Manoj’s private parts. After a while, Manoj fell unconscious. The driver, along with his accomplices, threw his body near the Bawana flyover and left the spot in their bus,” Valsan added.
According to officials, a PCR call was received on February 2 to report that an unidentified male body was lying by the roadside near the Bawana flyover. A police team rushed to the scene and found the body had no visible injuries. It was subsequently preserved at BSA hospital in Rohini, and an initial inquiry was launched, said police.
A day later, the victim was identified as Manoj, a resident of Gautam Colony in Narela, through his brother Jitendra. The family reported that Manoj had been missing since the morning of February 2. Initially, there were no allegations of foul play. However, a post-mortem examination conducted on February 5 revealed multiple internal injuries, including severe trauma to his “private parts”, said police.
Police inquiries established that Manoj and Dinesh worked as cooks at weddings.
Following the post-mortem report, a case was registered under sections 103(1) and 3(5) of BNSS at Bawana Police Station. Special teams were formed to crack the case and CCTV footage was analysed to trace the suspects.
One of the accused, 24-year-old Sushant Sharma, a resident of Karala, has been arrested, confirmed police on Sunday.
The two remaining suspects, including the driver, are absconding. Police teams are conducting raids to track them down, and further investigations are ongoing.
