To ensure that “no eligible citizen is left out”, the Noida administration is holding special camps across Noida and Greater Noida on Monday and Tuesday as part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, the District Magistrate (DM), who is overseeing the exercise, said Monday.

At a meeting with authority coordinators, RWAs and AOAs, volunteers, labour groups, entrepreneurs, builders and traders at the Greater Noida Authority auditorium, DM Medha Rupam said the revision exercise is being carried out in a “prompt, transparent and effective manner”.

As many as 50 camps are being held in labour-dominated areas on December 1 and 2 between 12 pm and 2 pm. A similar number of camps have also been set up inside industrial units to make the process accessible to people during working hours. In all, the administration has activated 1,868 booths across high-rises, residential sectors, labour clusters, industries, institutions, Film City, media offices and around 500 other key locations.

Officials said all forms, including Form 6 for new enrolment and Form 8 for corrections, can be submitted at any camp, irrespective of the booth. BLOs and trained staff will be deployed at these camps to assist with quick name searches using digital and PDF lists.

For households that have shifted within the district, BLOs will coordinate on the spot to ensure immediate corrections, with Form 8 filled then and there if required. “All issues related to the voter list will be resolved at the camps,” Rupam said.

To reach workers, dedicated camps are being held at the offices of major tech companies, including Samsung, LG, Dixon, Vivo, Oppo, Kent, CNH, BPL, Madrasan, Uflex, Sheela Foam, Bikaner, Haldiram, Surya Food, Victor Foods, Elantech, UTL Solar, Ekka Group, KRBL, Laxmi Group, Denso, Minda, Graziano, PPAP Automotive, IEA (Site B, Dadri–Surajpur Road) and Yamaha.

Similarly, the administration has set up camps at 35 educational and medical institutions to enrol students and staff. These include Amity University, Bennett University, Gautam Buddha University, Galgotias University and institutes, Sharda University and its affiliated colleges, DIET Dadri, Dronacharya College of Engineering, GNIOT, GNIT, Innovative College of Pharmacy, Lloyd Group institutes, KCC Institute.

For journalists and production staff working long shifts, 16 special camps are being held across the Film City and at media establishments. These include offices of The Indian Express, Aaj Tak, NDTV, Zee, Network18, India TV, ABP News, R Bharat, Times Now, News24, Amar Ujala, Dainik Jagran, and Hindustan.

The DM said that RWAs, AOAs, political parties and volunteers are “actively assisting” BLOs, while garbage collection vehicles with public announcement systems, drum-beaters and field teams are being used to spread awareness across neighbourhoods.

“All election-related facilities: enrollment, amendment and verification, will be available at these camps,” she said.
