Special frisking enclosure for women at Pragati Maidan metro station

The new security measure will help frisk two women passengers simultaneously, hence reducing traffic.

A special frisking enclosure for women at Pragati Maidan Metro station was inaugurated on Tuesday by the Director General of Central Industrial Security Force(CISF) Arvind Ranjan here today.

He also inspected the security arrangements and preparedness of the staff in dealing with the passengers on day-to-day basis at the metro station, a DMRC spokesperson said.

“This new type of frisking enclosure is a first of its kind for ladies in the entire Delhi Metro network which is designed in such a way that two women can be checked/frisked at the same time thus paving the way for faster checking and movement of female passengers without waiting in queues, especially during peak hours,” the spokesperson added.

More such type of frisking enclosures for women are planned to be installed at some of the major metro stations like Rajiv Chowk, Kasmere Gate, Karol Bagh and Central Secretariat etc, he added.
