Delhi Universitys South Campus kickstarted a two-day Interactive Open House Session on Post-Graduate Courses on Tuesday to familiarise post-graduate applicants with the campus and courses on offer.
The event started with an opening speech by Mala Sri Lal,Joint Director,South Campus,who encouraged students to form clubs within their respective courses in order to encourage team participation.
The students are welcome to open clubs related to their courses so that learning can become fun and interactive. Such clubs and groups will encourage healthy discussions and group participation, she said.
The session was also addressed by Dinesh C. Varshney,Deputy Dean,Students Welfare,who advised students to be prepared for a demanding post-graduate course structure while applying in Delhi University. Those seeking admission to post-graduate courses in Delhi University should know they are entering a university with a tough syllabus. We expect our students to work hard and excel not only in their respective courses but also in other subjects, said Varshney. He further encouraged students to pursue interdisciplinary courses.

The session had presentations informing the students about various post-graduate courses offered in South Campus. The popular courses are MA in Political Science,Microbiology,Genetics and Electronics Sciences. Students also had queries regarding Applied Psychology,Sociology and Sanskrit.
Students were also given details regarding the various entrance examinations scheduled for the post-graduate courses.
Poonam Chand,applying for DUs MA Political Science,said: I am new to Delhi and hardly know anything about DU and the courses offered here. This session has helped me get answers to my queries regarding the courses.
