Carnatic music buffs have something to look forward to. Dakshinayan,the annual Carnatic music festival organised by Banyan Tree comes to Delhi today on the final leg of its three-city tour.
The opening performance is by vocalist,composer and chitraveena performer N. Ravikiran (picture,left),known for his speed and technical mastery of the intrument. Vocalist Sanjay Subrahmanian (picture,right) is the second artist of the evening.
Though none of these musicians is new to Delhi,their visit generally creates a buzz as Carnatic concerts are a rarity in the Capital these days , says Vinod Raghavan of Banyan Tree. Reason enough to line up for the musical evening.
The event will be held at India Habitat Centre.
