Soon: Higher income group housing schemes in Dwarka

DDA plans to construct about 2,140 such flats mainly in Sectors 16 and 19.

For all those who weren’t able to get a flat allotment under Delhi Development Authority (DDA) Housing Scheme 2010,here’s some good news. DDA has taken up construction of several housing projects in Dwarka,which are mainly meant for the higher income group (HIG). Many of these projects are being taken up in Sector 26 and 27 and will provide housing to thousands of people in the National Capital Region.

According to DDA,around 1,240 HIG houses are coming up in Sector 19B. A budget of Rs 401 crore has been sanctioned for construction of these houses. “No objection certificate has been obtained from Airports Authority of India for these projects as they are built in the vicinity of the airport. Presently,design drawings and NOCs from other civic agencies are being obtained,’’ said a DDA official.

Several multi-storeyed flats are also being developed in Dwarka. Most of these are HIG flats and might be included in future housing schemes. “Around 352 flats will come up in Sector 19,pocket-III. They will be eight and ten storeyed buildings. Tenders to appoint consultant for design and obtaining approval from various local bodies have been received. Besides this,346 multi-storeyed two-bedroom flats will be constructed in Sector 16B,pocket-II. While tenders for this scheme were floated on September 2011,no response has been received so far. The area of the plot is 1.8 hectare and surface parking will also be developed here,’’ added the official.

Other than this,208 more flats are being constructed in Sector 14 and the project is in the advanced stage of planning.

Meanwhile,the development of Sector 26 has also begun and 810 houses have been allotted to those from economically weaker section (EWS) under the Housing Scheme 2010. “Around nine housing pockets will be developed in this area,which is spread over 57.35 hectares. Houses are being planned by the architect wing and the survey of these pockets have already been sent to them. Other facilities like bus terminals,multi-level parking,dispensary,community hall,etc.,will also be developed here,’’ said a DDA official.

This area will be connected to the Northern Periphery Road (NPR) in Gurgaon and Dwarka in Delhi. “The site is located on a 60-m wide road,which will further be connected to the NPR,which is to be extended to Haryana as per the Zonal Development Plan of Zone K-II (Dwarka),’’ said the official Land acquisition is also taking place for Sector 27. The land falling under Sector 27,as per the development plan,is surrounded by Rewari Railway Line and Bijwasan Road.

“At present,28.9 hectares of land is available in Sector 27 for taking up housing schemes. Land acquisition is taking place in the area now and development activities can only start thereafter,’’ said the official.
