It’s time for lovers of the red soles to unite. Luxury designer shoe label Christian Louboutin has launched #LouboutinWorld, a unique online gallery that will feature images created and uploaded by the French designer’s fans. Fans on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram from around the world can now tag their images of Christian Louboutin’s shoes, bags, accessories and nail colour with the hashtag #LouboutinWorld. Users would also stand a chance to be featured on the label’s website — ChristianLouboutin.com — as the designer himself will select his favourite hashtagged photos to appear on the homepage. Interestingly, this is the first foray into user-generated content for the label, which has around 3.5 million followers on Instagram alone. In a formal announcement of the initiative, Louboutin remarked that he sees #LouboutinWorld as an opportunity to share the excitement with his fans, celebrating their love for everything from his sculptural stilettoes and handcrafted leather goods to Louboutin manicures, but insists this is “only the beginning”.
It’s going to be a hot, hot summer of 2015 if you go by Calvin Klein’s latest global advertising campaign for Spring-Summer 2015 jeans and underwear collection. Featuring superstar singer Justin Bieber and Dutch supermodel Lara Stone, the campaign has been shot in black and white by fashion photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott in New York City. In the commercial, a bare-chested and heavily tattooed Bieber can be seen jamming on a drum kit alongside Stone, both of them wearing styles from the forthcoming collection. The Bieber-Stone pairing might have taken many by surprise but this is not the first time the brand has brought fashion and music together. Some of their most iconic campaigns have featured musicians such as Taylor Swift, Drake, Kanye West, Iggy Azalea and Usher.
