Sisters shot dead in Delhi’s RK Puram: 2 more arrested
Police suspect an old rivalry between the older brother of the deceased women and the accused, which led to the attack on the family.

A day after two sisters were shot dead as they jumped in to rescue their elder brother after an argument over a loan spiralled in RK Puram, the Delhi Police are questioning the accused men to probe their suspected connection to gambling cases.
The Delhi Police Monday arrested two more accused in the case; three were nabbed Sunday. Police suspect an old rivalry between the older brother of the deceased women and the accused, which led to the attack on the family.
Pinky (35) and Jyoti (29) were shot dead Sunday while they were trying to save their brother, Lalit, from a group of men who were thrashing him, said police. The women had come to visit their younger brother Lala to celebrate his wedding anniversary.
Manoj C, DCP (Southwest), said the team arrested a total of five men – Kishan, Ganesh, Dev, Michael and Arjun. “We found that Lalit had loaned Rs 10,000 to Dev who lives near their house. In the last 10-15 days, Lalit had approached Dev several times to recover the money. On Saturday night, a fight broke out as Lalit threatened Dev and others. The accused then called his associates who decided to take revenge,” he said.
Police said they suspect an old rivalry between Lalit and the accused which led to the brawl and the firing. “All the men are involved in cases of robbery and gambling along with illegal activities…We are questioning both the brothers along with the accused,” said an officer.
The DCP said while the main motive behind the murders is money settlement, investigators are also looking into the angle of local gambling and rivalry as the accused confessed to their involvement in previous crimes.
