Beautiful women on magazine covers are hardly a novelty, but when fashion photographer Anand Seth had to decide on a fine arts project,it was the most obvious option to explore. He,however, decided not to limit himself to models. The 38-year-old zeroed in on 10 women achievers based out of the Capital. It took Seth about a week to finish the project, which will be unveiled as an exhibition,10,at Rohit Bal’s hotel Cibo at Janpath on Thursday.

“It made sense to feature women who were achievers in their own domain,” he says, even as he reels off names like danseuse Shovana Narayan, actors Koel Purie and Chitrangada Singh, chess player Tania Sachdev, heiress and model Ayesha Thapar ,designers Gauri and Nainika Karan as part of the list. The Delhi-based photographer says the shoot was a breeze, and it helped that he had such pretty women as company. “Sometimes you take hours trying to explain a shot to someone. But most of these women were extremely receptive and even offered inputs of their own,” he says. His favourite shots are those of Thapar and painter Apsara. Seth, who has worked with designers like Rohit Bal and Wendell Rodricks, says he would like more such compilations in different cities and then work the entire thing in to a coffee-table book. A best-seller in the making?
