A day after AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal threatened to send mediapersons to jail for allegedly promoting BJP PM candidate Narendra Modi for money, AAP leader Shazia Ilmi sought to clear the air.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a CII event, Ilmi said, “The remarks were only against four channels, and if you look at their telecast, you will see that they are clearly biased. Nobody wants to send anyone to jail, but strict action must be taken if there are discrepancies. On certain shows, I felt intellectually raped and violated… Some sections have been objective, and have asked tough questions, as should be.”

She admitted it was “possible” that some processes had been subverted while AAP faced the problem of  “scalability to the national elections”. However, she said it was important to look at the party’s intent in matters regarding corruption.
