Man shot dead in Hapur encounter, worked as sharpshooter for Lawrence Bishnoi, say police

A 38-year-old alleged gangster, who the police claimed worked as a sharpshooter for jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, was shot dead in UP’s Hapur late Wednesday by the Delhi Police Special Cell and Uttar Pradesh Police’s Special Task Force (STF).

According to the police, Naveen Kumar Kasana, a resident of Ghaziabad, was allegedly involved in the murder of a utensil trader in Delhi’s Farsh Bazaar area in December last year.

Kasana, the police said, was going from Dadri to Hapur to meet some of his gang members and carry out another extortion in North East Delhi.

“He was on his way to a location in Hapur to meet his accomplices,” an officer said.
