Speaking from the Ramlila grounds during the launch of the BJP’s election campaign, national president Amit Shah presented a report card of the Modi government and cited its achievements.

He defended the government on the issue of black money and praised it for defending the country’s borders better than the UPA.

He commended the government for bringing down the inflation rate. “Petrol and diesel prices are down and we are working on skill development. We have appointed a dedicated minister for this,” Shah said.

With the Modi government under attack over the black money issue, Shah said the government has taken steps to bring back the black money stashed abroad.

“The BJP-led government in its first Cabinet meeting constituted an SIT to which we handed over 700 names. More will be added to the list as there is an international treaty that has to be taken care of first. Modiji has created an atmosphere against black money and if a consensus is reached at the international level, we will punish the guilty,” Shah claimed.

He blamed the Congress for not doing any work in the defence sector. “But now that we are here, we have floated tenders to empower our three forces,” the BJP national president said.

Commenting on the violation of ceasefire by Pakistan, Shah claimed that under the BJP-led government, Pakistan army was getting a befitting reply.

“Pakistan used to violate ceasefire even before. Earlier, it used to start the firing and finish it as well. But now, Pakistan starts the firing, but it is the Indian forces which end it. Wahan se goli ati hain tho  yahan se gola jata hai, eit ka jawab patthar se diya jata hai. Border security is the Modi government’s prime concern,” Shah said.

He also emphasised on the PM’s efforts to boost the country’s image among foreign countries. “You all must be watching TV. Earlier, when Manmohan Singh went abroad, did he ever get such a welcome? Our democracy has got a respect because of the vision of Modi government,” Shah said.
He also attacked the Opposition for stalling key legislations in Parliament but asserted that all their attempts to stop the country from the path of development would prove futile.

“BJP will not allow the Opposition to stop the development works. It has and will bring in ordinances, including those on coal block allocations, Land Acquisition Bill, FDI in insurance and mining sector. The Rajya Sabha too should respect public mandate,” Shah said.

Shah praised the BJP Union ministers for passing laws related to regularisation of unauthorised colonies in the national capital.

Shah asked the Delhi people to vote for the BJP in Delhi to ensure that Narendra Modi’s ‘vijay rath’ will come to Delhi too after unprecedented victories in Maharashtra, Haryana, Jharkhand, and Jammu and Kashmir Assembly polls.
