A seven-year-old girl was abducted, while she was playing outside her house, by an unidentified man on a bicycle and later raped, police said. The incident was reported on Tuesday from Wazirabad Village, Gurgaon.
According to police, the incident took place between 3.30 pm and 5 pm, when the girl went missing. She returned when it started getting dark in an auto-rickshaw.
“The girl was playing outside her house in the afternoon when she was abducted. She was taken to an isolated place and raped. When she resisted, the man threatened her. She was then dropped home in an auto-rickshaw in the evening,” Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime) Rajesh Kumar said.
Police said the girl was profusely bleeding. “She narrated the incident to her mother who then rushed her to Civil Hospital, Gurgaon. She was later referred to Safdarjung Hospital,” a police officer said. Though her condition is stable, she is not in a position to give a statement, police said.
Police have booked the accused under Section 376 (rape), criminal intimidation (506) of the IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, after the mother filed a complaint at Sushant Lok police station. Police have also booked the auto-rickshaw driver.
