Senior citizen sexually assaulted by vegetable vendor in Northwest Delhi

Accordingly, a case under Indian Penal Code (IPC) section pertaining to rape was lodged and investigation was undertaken.

“During the investigation, the accused, Akash, 28, was held. Further probe is underway,” said the DCP, adding that Akash is a vegetable vendor.

Stating that the incident took place inside the woman’s house, a senior police officer said, “The woman is above 60 and lives alone in her house… her children live in the same city, and one of them in the same locality.”
