Schools get notice for denying admission

The court has now directed the schools to give a report on the number of vacancies for children with special needs and how many students had been given nursery admissions under this quota.

The Delhi High Court has issued a notice to four premier schools in the city on a plea filed by the parent of a four-year-old differently-abled child, alleging that he had not been given admission to nursery class.

The court of Justice S Muralidhar on Wednesday issued notice to Sanskriti School, Springdales Pusa Road, Bal Bharti Public school Rajender Nagar and DPS Mathura Road, as well as the Delhi government and Directorate of Education (DoE) to reply to the plea within a week.

The court has now directed the schools to give a report on the number of vacancies for children with special needs and how many students had been given nursery admissions under this quota.
