The salaries of eight senior Noida Authority officials have been withheld over their alleged failure in timely and quality disposal of cases under the Integrated Grievance Redressal System (IGRS), said officials on Tuesday.

Talking to The Indian Express, Chief Executive Officer, Noida Authority, M Lokesh said that the action was taken to ensure that there was no delay or laxity in addressing public grievances, particularly those registered under IGRS.

According to officials, the decision was taken after department heads and senior officers were declared “defaulters” for having more than 12 pending IGRS complaints, despite repeated directives to expedite resolutions. Authorities termed the continued pendency as “highly objectionable”.

The officials whose salaries will remain withheld until further orders were Kranti Shekhar Singh, Special Officer (Group Housing); Arvind Kumar Singh, Special Officer (Land Records); A K Arora, General Manager (Civil); S P Singh, General Manager (Civil); R P Singh, General Manager (Water); Meena Bhargava, General Manager (Planning); Priya Singh, Deputy General Manager (Industrial); and Sanjeev Kumar Bedi, Deputy General Manager (Residential Plots).

CEO Lokesh said that most of the complaints in Noida were related to water supply, road damage, issues related to transfer of land or property, black water, issues related to industries, and overgrown branches of trees during winter.

“Generally, a period of 15 days or a month is given to address an issue… these officials failed to address issues within that time frame,” said the CEO.
