The RSS is clearly not leaving the Lok Sabha campaigning in the national capital to the BJP alone.
Armed with inputs on each booth, the RSS has decided to start full-fledged campaigning in the city, including door-to-door canvassing.
In a closed-door meeting, 70 coordinators, mostly RSS workers, were appointed to carry out the campaign. They have been given data collected through a survey carried out by the saffron party’s ideological parent.
According to party sources, the detailed survey report includes voter segregation on the basis of gender, age and caste. They also have details on candidates who contested from a particular booth, who won or lost and the reasons for it. Senior party leaders believe that this kind of data will be useful in tapping voters who have not been voting for the BJP or have started supporting the AAP.
Only the 70 coordinators have been given passwords to access this data. “If any BJP leader wants to access the data, he/she will have to seek permission from the coordinator concerned. The coordinator will inform the office that the leader be allowed to study the data. Printouts or copying of data has been strictly restricted by the RSS,” the senior leader said.
]The RSS, along with BJP workers, will keep a strict vigil on campaigning activities and accompany workers when they go on door-to-door campaigning.
Before the Assembly elections last December, despite the BJP’s claims that door-to-door campaigning was done, senior leaders had later accepted that little effort was put into campaigning activities and that the workers had failed to carry out door-to-door campaigning. This cost the party the chance to form a government in Delhi, despite emerging the single-largest party.
“The RSS workers will accompany us while we start our door-to-door campaigning on April 1,” a senior BJP leader said.

The infighting in the BJP came to fore again with the district president of South Delhi along with the whole unit resigning from their posts. The party appointed a new president almost immediately.
“We were working on 272 missions and they asked me to take the additional in-charge with me due to a lack of trust in me. This is the reason given to me by the party,” Balram Bindal who resigned as president, said. (ENS)
