Row erupts over admission of Rohingya children in govt schools in Delhi; AAP, BJP trade barbs

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday traded barbs over the admission of Rohingya children in Delhi government schools.

Several Rohingya children were given admission in state-run schools last week, after a Supreme Court order.

AAP Kirori MLA Anil Jha called the action the BJP’s “hypocrisy”.

He added that the government had “robbed Delhi’s children of their rights”.

At a press conference at the AAP headquarters, Jha said, “Information has surfaced regarding the admission of approximately 10 Rohingya children in schools in Karawal Nagar, Delhi. BJP leaders repeatedly label them as Bangladeshi infiltrators, yet Rohingya students are being admitted to Delhi schools.”
