Fashion designer Rohit Bal and three others were arrested on Friday for allegedly creating a ruckus and misbehaving with his neighbour in Defence Colony. The incident took place in the early hours of Friday. According to police, Bal, who runs a showroom in Defence Colony, had an argument over parking with his neighbour in C Block. The neighbour made a PCR call, following which police arrived.
DCP (south) Ishwar Singh said they received a complaint from one Iqbal Singh, who alleged that Bal, along with Lalit Kumar, Ramesh and Pramod, forcibly entered his house. The complainant also alleged that the four men, under the influence of alcohol, threatened him and created a ruckus.
According to police, Bal reached home in the early hours of Friday and couldn’t find parking outside his home. “It is suspected that they have been having issues over parking for some days,” said an officer. According to police, Bal, along with his friend Kumar, driver Ramesh and cook Pramod, allegedly threatened Singh’s guard at the entrance before barging inside and banging on the door.
Singh wrote in his complaint that when he came out, they allegedly held him by the neck and abused him. Police said a case under sections 427 (mischief, causing damage to the amount of Rs 50), 451 (house trespass) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered at Defence Colony police station. Police said all four men were later granted bail.
