Two brothers were allegedly beaten up by a group of men in Patel Nagar area of Central Delhi late on Saturday night in a suspected case of road rage.
According to the police,the incident occurred around 10 pm when the victims,Lakhvinder Singh and Indrapreet Singh were going towards their house in Patel Nagar.
A heated argument broke out during a traffic snarl. Supreet Singh,another brother of the victims said,My brothers got caught in a jam. One of them waved to some people in a car and asked them to move their car a bit. The men got out of their cars and slapped Lakhvinder first. Then three to four persons beat up both my brothers. Lakhvinder suffered several injuries on his face.
Supreet said the police have not been cooperative and have registered a case of fighting,though the injuries were of a serious nature.
The people who beat up my brothers are infamous in the area for creating a nuisance and beating up people. Despite that,the police did not take any action against them, Supreet alleged.
The victims run an animation institute in Ghaziabad and stay in Patel Nagar area of Central Delhi.
Lakhvinder was released from RML Hospital today afternoon after treatment. He is still recuperating. The police,meanwhile,said that both Lakhvinder and Indrapreet had suffered minor injuries.
Deputy Commissioner of Police,Central Delhi,Jaspal Singh said,A case has been registered in this regard and a probe is on.
